For September’s SEG we reviewed recent articles which indicate the declining membership of American Quakers in general. We have always been a minority religious group but have had positive societal impact beyond our numbers.
We decided to have a second discussion this month to consider how we can help Wrightstown Meeting thrive in the decades to come. We recognize the problems of our busy world but still feel that Wrightstown Friends Meeting can have a vital future.
An assignment that we would encourage all SEG participants to do prior to the session is to examine our own participation in Meeting and to come prepared to share about the following:
What it is about our Meeting that you personally find of significant and unique value?
What prompted you to come to Meeting for the first time ?
What keeps you coming back ?
Perhaps by exploring these personal testimonies we can get a clearer idea of what we have and what we can offer to others.
